Hanborough Bowls Club intends to open the green to members on 3rd July, 2020.  All guidance from Bowls England will be followed to ensure that our members are kept safe.

Hanborough Bowls Club originally started out as an indoor short mat club in the late 1980s, moving to an outdoor club in 1996.  A new clubhouse was then built and officially opened in March 2000.

At present we have 50+ members with a roughly equal ratio of men to women players.  We are affiliated to Bowls England and Bowls Oxfordshire.  Our men are in Division 2 of the Oxford League, having gained promotion last season.  Our ladies play in the West Oxon Ladies League and we have mixed friendly games at weekends throughout the season.  Roll-ups are held every Monday and Friday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm when members are encouraged to come along and have a game, and we are always ready to welcome new players.  We have three trained coaches and coaching is always available to new players and those who just want to improve their bowling.

Subscription for full membership is £60.00 per season - new members pay only £30.00 for their first bowling season.

During the winter months we play indoor short mat bowls and have two teams in the West Oxon League.  We also hold our own club indoor league competition with at least eight teams taking part each season.  We are affiliated to ESMBA and OSMBA for short mat.

We hold many social events throughout the year in the clubhouse.  These are very enjoyable, well supported events open to members and their family and friends.

We have recently had the addition of new changing rooms and this season the clubhouse has been redecorated and carpeted throughout.

Hanborough Bowls Club is a stone’s throw from Blenheim Palace and the historic town of Woodstock, and therefore perfect for touring teams who are always made very welcome by the club.

There is ample car parking space at the club which is situated on the playing fields site in Roosevelt Road, just off the main A4095 from Witney to Woodstock.
